Rules for the Site
• First, and always, be respectful of others. If you notice discrepancies in someone's post, keep in mind that they may be posting from their phone, or may be rusty in their roleplaying skills. Be kind.
• This is strictly a Black Jewels roleplay site. Any and all out-of-character (OOC) conversations, actions, etc. can be placed in a spoiler tag, which is located on the BBCode box at the top of the reply box. Any other OOC stuff can be taken into a PM.
• There will be no acceptable baiting, bashing, or flaming a member for any reason. This extends to their familial situation, sexuality, race, gender, age, etc. Proboards requires PG-13 content. If you decide you want NSFW content, take it to PM or mark the thread as NSFW. We can limit who can access that particular thread, so please message an Admin about NSFW or 13+ content.
• You may not God-Mode (GM). Stay within the power capacity of your Jewel and caste. Someone not part of the Hourglass cannot create weaved webs, nor do they have the visions that Black Widows do, and have. A Purple-Dusk hearth-witch cannot and will not preform a Healer's duty.
• Cursing on this site is allowed, to a certain extent, but will be monitored for accuracy and reasonableness. You cannot come into someone's thread, post, or sub-board and be like, "hey, you" and go on a cussing tangent. For any conflicts, contact an admin.
• Please also try to use the font "times new roman" in your character application posts as much as possible. The site should be kept uniform, but if you must deviate, feel free. This rule primarily applies to character applications and any necessary edits or additional information during an edit. If you wish to change your text color, please do your best to remain within the color theme of the site. It took forever to format and create a unique theme for this site, and we appreciate when people remain within it. Colors accepted are white, gray, black, red (in varying shades), and dark purple. Ask an Admin for the hex color codes that we used to make the site and we'll be happy to give them to you. You can find the BBCode for the character application in the "Create a Character" form. If you find discrepancies, please message an Admin.

Character Rules
• When you go to apply for a character, reply with their Birthright Jewel, or the Birthright Jewel that you plan on them having. Keep in mind that you can only descend the greatest of three Jewels- meaning, if you have a Red-Jeweled Birthright, you could potentially descend to the Black. Alternatively, you could descend to Gray, or Ebon-Gray.
• You may only have one darker Jeweled (descended) character in a higher caste (Warlord Prince, Black Widow, Healer). Dark Jewels are anything beyond Opal, since Opal can be either a light Jewel or a dark Jewel. You can request another darker-Jeweled character, but you must have them in a lower caste (witch, Warlord). Please note that lighter Jewels will, and can, inhibit the power of your Blood character. For example, with your Craft cabinet, your Jewel rank will determine how much you can carry inside this cabinet. A White-Jeweled character can hold much less than someone with a Purple-Dusk Jewel. As you descend in the ranks, you can carry more things. For example, someone with a White Jewel, after making their Offering to the Darkness, can carry more things with their Rose Jewel than they ever could with their Birthright White.
• It's also required that you balance each darker-Jeweled character with a lighter-Jeweled character. Please keep in mind that lighter-Jeweled characters can be Warlord Princes, Black Widows, Priestesses, and Healers regardless of Jewel- however, the limitation of the Jewel power will inhibit your character and you must roleplay it as such. You cannot have a (light) Opal-Jeweled character performing massive acts of healing Craft without it draining their Jewels, as if they were an Ebon-Gray or Black-Jeweled character- it's simply not allowed.
• It's important to remember that regardless of Jewel rank, all Blood characters (male or female) pertain the ability to perform basic Craft. This includes a small storage cabinet (Craft Cabinet), lighting small tongues of witch-fire, basic shielding (which can be taught to expand outward, but only with proper training), psychic threads (regardless of classification- you just can't do Jewel to Jewel psychic thread), air-walking (again, when taught properly), kindred psychic thread communication (when taught properly), retrieving items (calling from across the room, calling for shoes, etc.- very minor telekinesis), and basic warming spells.
• It's also important to remember that if you do not wear Jewels (meaning you are just Blood), you cannot ride the Winds without being shielded by someone with Jewels, or being in a coach that's shielded by Jewels. It will literally break your mind if you attempt to complete this, and you would tumble into the Darkness that exists between the Winds.
• Keep in mind that you don't have to descend when making the Offering to the Darkness. You can remain at your Birthright, it just may take on a darker hue. If you have Birthright Red, and remain at Red after the Offering to the Darkness, the Red Jewel may take on a darker shade.
• Also keep in mind that the average wait for an application to be reviewed after being posted in the "Pending Applications" board is around 1-2 days. We are not neglecting your character, nor you- we are busy adding to and editing the site. Keep in mind that if you're approaching a 2+ day wait, you may message an Admin or Moderator and ask them to review your character so you can begin roleplaying.
• Anyone can play a landen. Keep in mind that the landens have an average human lifespan of somewhere between 80-100 years. Do not act as if your landen has the lifespan of someone from Dhemlan.
• When your character is created, an Admin will add an Alter to your profile. If you don't know how to use an Alter, ask an Admin or Moderator for assistance in using your Alter. We all understand that things may be new and it may require some adjusting to get used to the way the site is set up. No Admin/Moderator will become aggravated or upset with the need for help with something like an Alter, setting up a profile, etc.
