Draca and Lorn- a love tale older than time.
It is said that the Blood originated from dragons. When the dragons foresaw the end of their race, Draca, the Queen of the Dragons, gave her daughter the vision of gifting the primordial Blood the Jewels that the dragons had. That allowed the Blood, now gifted with Jewels, to rise to power and control the land that the dragons had once watched over. Lorn, mentioned more often than not in texts as the Prince of the Dragons, resided in the Keep until he could be useful again, allowing Draca, his mate, to assume a more human form. Draca is said to have serpentine appearances, with a rolling "s" sound when speaking, as if her tongue is still forked.
Lorn, however, is still a dragon and resides at EbonAskavi, making it his personal lair. He is still living, his great wings folded by his body, his massive head cradled by the sharp black stone of the mountain. He is spoken to with high regard, and when Lorn decides to speak, his words are usually carried out and held as precious. His scales are seen as flickering flames inside Jewels, and are often mistaken as uncut Jewels. It's said that uncut Jewels come from Lorn's pelt directly, though no one has accurately confirmed this theory.
Lorn and Draca were an integral part of raising Jaenelle Angelline, Witch, into her power and glory. Lorn provided Jaenelle Angelline with thirteen uncut Black Jewels. Later, when she became the Queen of Kaeleer after making her Offering to the Darkness, six of those became Ebony Jewels, an unseen Jewel; the other seven became parts of her rings and necklaces, broken into small shards. This dispersed her power, always ready for her use. However, Jaenelle Angelline passed away and left Lorn, once more, residing in the Black Mountain, awaiting his next Queen in solitude.
Draca, Lorn, and the Keep's historian, Geoffrey, all reside in the Keep at EbonAskavi. They tend to the Black Mountain and oversee any conducting business going on in the Keep.
