The Female Castes
- landens are the non-Blood of any race
- A Blood female is a general term for all females of the Blood; it also refers to any Blood female who doesn't wear Jewels
- A witch is a Blood female who wears Jewels, but isn't one of the other hierarchical levels; this term is also used to refer to any Jeweled female. It's important to note that there are plenty of jobs available for anyone of this rank. These include: hearth-witch (who performs cleaning duties, cooking, etc.), nanny, serving as a servant of the Court, butler, cook, valet, housekeeper, merchant, storekeeper, tavernkeeper, secretary, guard-duty, stablehand, and many other duties
- A hearth-witch is a Jeweled witch who can perform Craft; she cooks, cleans, does laundry, performs other house-keeping duties, and generally cares for the home/estate of the people she's serving. This is a trained art similarly to how Priestesses, Healers, and Black Widows are trained. A hearth-witch is usually trained by her mother or another female head, and is trained to complete tasks in the home. The training can take place at any time in a hearth-witch's life, and this training is overseen by that hearth-witch's mother until that hearth-witch comes of age. In simple terms, a hearth-witch can be defined as the house mother- she cooks, cleans, provides comfort and security, cares for children, and generally tends the home
- A Healer is a witch who heals physical wounds and illnesses; she is equal in status to a Priestess and a Prince
- A Priestess is a witch who cares for the altars, Sanctuaries, and Dark Altars; she can witness handfasts and marriages; she performs the Offering to the Darkness. She is equal in status to a Healer and a Prince
- A Black Widow is a witch who heals the mind; she weaves the tangled webs of dreams and visions; she is trained in illusions and poisons. Typically, this position is reserved only for females; however, two male Black Widows have been known to exist in Blood history. Saetan SaDiablo and his namesake, Daemon SaDiablo, are the two known male Black Widows. Saetan, due to training; Daemon, due to birth
- A Queen describes a witch who rules the Blood. She is considered to be the land's heart and the Blood society's moral center. As such, she is the focal point of their society
